Could you provide reproduction steps?

This same problem is happening in our environment (probably), so let me write about it.

In Google WS administrator (Google Admin), create a policy to install Authenticator and set it to apply to any client PC.

Launch Chrome on the client PC to which the policy applies, and Authenticator will be installed, but, If you reboot the PC after setting up two-step authentication, all Authenticator settings will disappear. (Even if you reconfigure the settings, they will all disappear when you restart your PC, so you will need to configure the settings each time or import them from a backup.)

*Note This problem does not occur on PCs that are not subject to this policy. It occurs even if Google sync is turned off. It is not related to the contents of the two-step verification setting in Authenticator.

Browser virsion 122.0.6261.71 Extension version 6.3.6

Thank you

Thank you

Do you mean the settings for the extension's appearance and behavior (like theme, scale, and auto-lock) or the data related to your account?

After restarting my PC, my account (the account I registered with Authenticator) disappears. My account disappears and it says "No acounts to display. Add your first account now".

Is this problem curable?

ac-rkmNn avatar Mar 15 '24 01:03 ac-rkmNn

Could you share a copy of the policies that install and configure the extension?

I just created the following policy, applied it to a fresh chrome profile, added an account, and rebooted. I did not lose data.

We understood it was due to company policy and we have begun reviewing our policies Thank you for your review!

@ac-rkmNn could you share which policy was causing this?
