Feature request: Neutral application category
First of all: nice work ! Thanks for this !
There is however a feature I miss to make it workable for me, and I thought maybe other people experience the same limitation.
The "Uncategorized" category assumes that time is spent on "Uncategorized" category, unless a category is explicitly selected each time we switch from a categorized to an uncategorized application.
I would need something slightly different: Let's call it "Neutral" category: The "Neutral" category assumes that time is still spent on the previously (non-neutral) selected category.
For example, let 's say I Visual Studio on category "dev", Outlook on category "com" and iexplorer on category "Neutral". If I switch from Visual Studio to iexplorer, time would be still added to category "dev", because we assume that the use of iexplorer is to support the dev effort still. If I switch then to Outlook, time is spent on "com". If I then switch to iexplorer again, time is spent still on "com", as we assume that I switched to iexplorer to add an attachment to Outlook, or something related to this activity.
Very good idea.
Additional thought: It would be nice, that if we spend a lot of time on a "neutral" application, it is then counted as really neutral (or another fallback category)... For example after 5 min browsing on iexporer, I probably do not work anymore on "dev".
