Doesn't override physical thermostat

Open infernix opened this issue 5 months ago • 3 comments

Hi,

I've got SAT set up without a primary thermostat in its config and with just a set of TRVs per room. However, the Remeha eTwist thermostat is still connected to the OTGW.

What I'm seeing is that that thermostat is constantly overriding the setpoint. I see continuous spam from it in the OTGW logs that it is setting the setpoint to 7.

Is SAT permanently overriding the setpoint with CS? e.g. setting a value greater than 0? And if yes, is it then setting CH=1 and 0 while keeping CS > 0?

Because as I understand it, that is how to override the physical thermostat control, but this does not seem to be what's happening as I'm constantly seeing it jump to 7 - which is what the eTwist is doing.

Can you please add some graphs of the eTwist behavior vs SAT climate entity?

Here's a good example. This is with the eTwist on a schedule which sets its temp to 16 at midnight. you see how it keeps pushing its temp to 7c which is its default "heating off" temp.

OK, can you create an automation that synchronizes the eTwist setpoint with the SAT setpoint?

I tried that, but then it will override the setpoint of SAT with its own. I even modified SAT code to never set CS=0 but even that did not help. So either OTGW is not doing what it should (override it), or SAT somehow periodically disables the override.

For now I've had to disable SAT. I'll test again when i can turn off/disconnect the thermostat remotely, it's a rental property so only there occasionally.
