For comparison:

  • Dragon that died in the sky and fell onto an ice spike floor: 2022-05-12_09 04 48
  • Dragon that died on an ice spike floor: 2022-05-12_09 03 14

Upon further testing, this also happens with other non-full blocks. Tested with: layered snow, slabs, ice spikes, trapdoors, carpets and fences
