Issue Details
Steps to reproduce:
- Download Adguard installer from https://adguard.com/en/download.html?os=windows
- Execute the installer so that it downloads the application and installs completely
- AdGuard should load the first time.
Actual Behavior
AdGuard did not load either after installation or even after clicking on the desktop shortcut. I even rebooted the laptop to verify if that resolves the issue. Going through event log shows these two errors;

@sanjayen Hi and sorry for a huge delay.
- Please, remove the app via advanced uninstaller and install the latest Beta build then check if it works
- Check whether there is
adguard.exeprocess in Task Manager and if so, kill the process then try to launch AdGuard again - Do you have any programs affecting network traffic? It could be antivirus/firewall/vpn
@sanjayen any update?
@Aydinv13 apologies but have been caught up in work. Will try this over the weekend and revert.
@Aydinv13 same error like earlier

@sanjayen please collect the recent logs from %tmp%/adguard(4 recent logs) and %programdata%/adguard (entire Logs folder)
@Aydinv13 give me till this weekend to get this done.
@sanjayen sorry for another ping, but could you try out the new Nightly build and grab the logs if it still persists please.
Let's keep this topic closed until we get new data.
@Aydinv13 Apologies for the delay as was busy at work.
Downloaded the nightly again today from the link shared earlier but no luck as AdGuard interface does not load. Uninstall also gave a problem this time.
Sharing the log files from Temp and ProgramData folders.
@Aydinv13 I installed the latest AdGuard version and it still crashes. Any way I can get it working?
@sanjayen could you create a new folder in %programdata%/Adguard\Logs and name it "agent" then restart your PC.
@Aydinv13 that did the trick and the interface loaded. A couple of more things
- I am an admin on the machine but %ProgramData%/AdGuard did not allow me to open up the folder. I had to explicetely add my user ID to gain access to the folder.
- I am unable to ON the AdGuard service. It sticks to OFF and RED by stating "An error occured while using the AdGuard service"
What should I check next to make the service work?
Also, I am unable to reinstall the certificate. The error states - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Follow the steps please:
- If you have any programs affecting network traffic please try to turn them off
- In case it doesn't help please try to get access to
%programdata%/Adguardfolder and send the logs again - Try to remove
%programdata%/Adguard(Stop the AdGuard app before) and launch again
@Aydinv13 I can think of Windows Firewall and YogaDNS which are working with network traffic. Sharing the log files from ProgramData again.
Do let me know if there is something else that I can do to make it work. AdGuard-ProgramData-Logs.zip
@sanjayen seem that some application doesn't allow AdGuard to create files in Program Data. Could you disable the apps that can access control on your system one by one and check if it works. It could be the above mentioned applications as well.
Will do @Aydinv13 and let you know
@sanjayen , any news?
No sorry, have been busy at work. Will try this weekend as have a few days off. Will reply back.
@sanjayen sorry for ping, but is there any news about the problem
