OpenTelemetry support

Inspired by this blogpost by the Azure SDK team I think we should consider exposing "OpenTelemetry events".

Not sure of implementation yet. Should it be enabled always? Expose the built in events using an event listener? My gut feeling is that this could/should be exposed on the API-wrapper level.
