Sending email process is not working
Hi @ADefWebserver ,
A Customer has reported an issue in Blazor Succinctly series code on enabling email in SyncfusionHelpDesk. We have tried from our end and this can be reproduced. Could you please check and resolve this?
Please refer the below customer reported issue.
hello, i have problems with your ebook BLAZOR, chapter 9 sending email. this option is not working with a new sendgrid account and API KEY and email.
what could be the problem, i do not get any errors but also no email.
what should i look at?
I will look into this.
I just did a test and it worked for me. I will need more information to diagnose this :)
- What was the exact error?
- What version of Sendgrid was used?
- Was the log in Sendgrid checked?
- Would the exact SendGrid settings work in a console app ? (could be a firewall issue)
Thank you
Hi @ADefWebserver,
Customer has updated the requested details. Please find the same below.
hello,
i just tried the Git version with my email and APIKEY, but also this does not work, no ERROR and no email.
question, is the admin email (in your book) the same like the email in the sendgrid set-up ?
feedback to your requests,
1. no email received and no error message
2. a new free license version
3. at SendGrid all looks OK
4. i’m just using the syncfusion book example
what do you recomend to do ?
@sridurgha Can you zip up your solution and email it to "webmaster at adefwebserver.com"? Thanks!
question, is the admin email (in your book) the same like the email in the sendgrid set-up ?
No, you should use a real email address for "SenderEmail". The book does not indicate what email address you should use.
@sridurgha - I just created a new free sendgrid account (previously I used my normal sendgrid account), and it worked.
If you email me at "webmaster at adefwebserver.com" I can send you my project and you can run it and see if it works for you (I suspect firewall issues).
Thank you
Hi @ADefWebserver,
Customer has updated the below response. Please find the same below.
hi, i don't bring it to fly. in my send-grid account all looks good and OK. (email sender and damain verification)
it would help if you could write down the steps that need to be donne and set-up in send-grid. maybee i set-up a wrong version.
Another customer has also reported the same issue and we have requested for the zip of their project.
@tonypitwood - I looked at your code and the problem is you have to have a single "{" and "}" not double "{{" and "}}" around the email settings:

Even doing that, @ADefWebserver I still don't receive an email, nor an error code Kind regards, Tony
Hi @AdefWebserver,
Still doesn’t work?
(followed the manual . . .
I thoroughly enjoyed your course – thank you.
Do you have another that I can get a bit more under my belt before I try developing my Blazor app based on HelpDesk?
Kind regards
Tony

@tonypitwood https://github.com/tonypitwood - I looked at your code and the problem is you have to have a single "{" and "}" not double "{{" and "}}" around the email settings:

Here's the shot from the manual
@tonypitwood - I am so sorry, I meant remove all the "{{" and "}}"

Please try again. (I will have them update the book)
Do you have another that I can get a bit more under my belt before I try developing my Blazor app based on HelpDesk?
@tonypitwood - I have more tutorials and sample code on my website at BlazorHelpWebsite.com -Thanks!
Even removing all the {{}} doesn't cut it 👎 Is there another way I could check if my SendGrid details are working?
@tonypitwood - I put my SendGrid key in the code sample you sent me and it did not work. I then downloaded the latest code from this repro, and put in your key (from the code you sent me) and it did work! :) Can you please do the same and confirm? Thanks!
code from this repro??? Sorry, I don't know the term :(
@tonypitwood - Download the code from this page: https://github.com/ADefWebserver/SyncfusionHelpDesk
@tonypitwood - (I deleted your post because it contained your key) - I will email to you directly, my version, using your key for you to test...
@ADefWebserver Hi, I have just tried the download and nope, it still won't send an email . . I'm using Windows Defender - should I add a rule allowing VS2019 to export?
@tonypitwood - I just did a video conference with Syncfusion support where I demonstrated how I was able to send emails, using the code in this GitHub repo, using your SendGrid key. I directed them to this SendGrid page where they show how to test your connection to SendGrid: https://sendgrid.com/docs/for-developers/sending-email/getting-started-smtp/
@ADefWebserver Hi Michael, I just seem to be going around in squircles - I followed the instructions right through to auth login and then putting in my username and password (Base64) but it comes back with Bad username or password. Tried it nseveral times, even regenerating the Base64encoded fields but to no avail. I have spent the last hour trying to find how to ask someone on Twilio Sendgrid but cannot find where or who to ask! If you could help, I would really appreciate it. The fact that it works for you, but not for me, makes me think I have missed a step or two. Kind regards, Tony
@tonypitwood - Sorry I have no connections at SendGrid. However, you can follow the directions to run the application from Azure and it will work from there: https://timheuer.com/blog/deploy-blazor-webassembly-applications-on-azure-using-github-actions-wasm/
