I am not able to start task-dashboard

I noticed that someone asked for zsh integration and I am running under zsh and i3. My issue was initially that I would get the issue with the panes like in the closed issue. Now when I start now, it just goes the tasksh, but does not create any of the panes defined. Also I am not able to quit the tasksh, but that might be another issue.

I see that it has been several years since any activity. Should I just look elsewhere for another solution?
