Custom alphabet height
For larger devices (or just people with short thumbs) it would be nice to have the ability to select a half height alphabet slider so you can reach A-Z comfortably without moving your hand.
Sorry if this is a duplicate.
One option to make it display cleanly would be to only display ever other letter when not being used.
To shrink it soo much that the alphabet is only half it's old size, would be too tiny I guess but maybe I'll add an option to change it's size.

I am sorry, what do you mean by that?
To better plan ahead and to give users an estimate of which features will be added to Niagara, I’ve decided to close all feature requests that that are unlikely to be implemented in the next year (2021). This is one of those, unfortunately. I'm sorry. Feel free to open this ticket again in 2022 or later.
Hello! It is now 2022 and I'd like to reopen this issue with a new perspective.
On the new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, Niagara is almost completely unusable -- the Alphabet becomes so stretched across the side of the 14.6" display that nobody could hope to reach the top letters; my thumb only goes as far as "N", even in landscape mode. As it stands, the only way I can use Niagara right now is by placing my tablet down on a surface and swiping with my index finger, ruining the one-handed efficiency I enjoy on my phone.
Adding an "Easy Reach" toggle that only appears on large-format displays (like dual-column view) could be the best move here. Reducing the Alphabet by a set value instead of a slider leans into the simple design philosophy, and restricting it to larger devices ensures that the majority of users won't have an extra slider cluttering the settings menu, while those with bigger screens (who absolutely need it) can still utilize it.
