Search opens wrong app when typing quickly

Open curtishzl opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug

Seems like Niagara opens the first search result without registering all the characters that have been typed in the search box.

Steps to reproduce

Watch the video I attached

  1. Identify two apps that start with the same sequence. Note which one will be lower in the search results. For me, this problem arises with Calendar and Calculator, and Calculator is lower in the search results because I use Calendar more often.
  2. Swipe up to search.
  3. Quickly type the shared sequence, followed by the first character that differentiates the lower app, and immediately press enter. In the video, I swipe up and quickly type C-A-L-C and press enter. Calendar, NOT Calculator, is opened.

Does the issue also occur with other 3rd-party launchers?

Hey there, thanks for the report. We sometimes intentionally slightly delay search results for different reasons (saving battery, checking the web, etc.). That being said, one of the following few updates should improve performance and might fix this issue for you.
