For me render distance should be configured in celestia.cfg rather than hardcoded.

@levinli303 do you have this issue with stars enabled/disabled in different star modes?
Then it's caused by the quad behind the star blending with orbits. The same issue should present with master branch. Could you check and confirm?

@StefanBruens in version 1.6.2 we have two Norwegian translation: nb and no. Could you tell what language variant is no using, nynorsk or bokmal?
"1.6.2" tells me that win only :)
