Integration with other plugins
Recently, i've added support for Co-Authors Plus to Distributor by modifying the outgoing body of a push and associating co-authors on the receiving side, creating guest authors as needed.
I'd like to submit this work for inclusion in Distributor but am unsure of 10up's thoughts around supporting external plugins like CAP. There already is support for certain other plugins, mostly via hooks (the wpseo/Yoast stuff to fix canonical urls and such comes to mind).
If it was to be included, would it just be enabled by default or should a user be able to toggle integrations on and off, much like how the Instant Articles plugin handles integrations with analytics and ads plugins (screenshot)?
Alternatively, should integration into Distributor be handled from the other side, i.e. should this code to modify the request bodies and such be added to CAP to be included into Distributor syncs via hooks?
I would like us to decide if/how Distributor supports external plugins (as @robbiet480 noted with Co-Authors Plus). Let's look at deciding this and taking any relevant actions during the 2.0 release cycle (note 2.0 is currently unplanned and has no timeline set as of yet).
